Kylie MacDonald
Fire and Life Safety Educator
Kylie, a native of Richmond, has worked for the City of Richmond since 2008. Over the years, she has held various roles within the city, including Lifeguard Instructor, Aquatic Shift Supervisor, and Emergency Programs Coordinator. Recently returning to Richmond after a stint with Vancouver Fire Rescue Services as their Public Education Specialist, Kylie now serves as the Fire and Life Safety Educator with Richmond Fire-Rescue.
Having graduated from J.N Burnett Secondary, Kylie initially pursued nursing in university and worked in Richmond and Surrey providing acute and palliative care services. However, her medical background and fervor for emergency response led her to transition into a career in firefighting. She boasts a multitude of certifications in firefighting, emergency response, fire education, fire inspections, and fire investigations.
In her leisure time, Kylie owns and operates a swimming lesson business in South Delta, where she helps individuals of all ages master swimming skills. Additionally, she cherishes spending quality time outdoors in her beach community alongside her family.
