Forrest Weissler
Chief Fire Prevention Officer
Forrest has been an esteemed member of Richmond Fire-Rescue (RFR) for nearly a quarter of a century, having started his career with the City of Richmond in 2000. He has held various positions within RFR, including firefighter, Fire Prevention Officer, and Captain Fire Investigations/Special Hazards, before assuming the role of Chief Fire Prevention Officer. Throughout his career, he has been a strong advocate for Fire and Life Safety in the community, taking collaborative approach to building relationships with stakeholders.
One of Forrest’s passions is sharing his knowledge and expertise with his team, supporting training in Fire Prevention operations for Company Officers, new recruits, and Chief Officers. He has created several highly successful programs, such as MOFSU/Food Trucks, Fireworks/Pyrotechnics, Vacant/Abandoned Properties, and Seasonal Agricultural Workers Safety, which he has presented to other stakeholders in FPOABC, GVFCA, and affiliated workgroup forums.
Forrest is also committed to personal growth and development, recently completing the Corporate Program Management Group program, certified by Royal Roads University.
When he is off duty, Forrest enjoys spending time with his family and pursuing his hobbies, such as amateur travel/drone Vlogging, Dungeons & Dragons, and attending music festivals.
