Richmond Rescuer Receives Award
25 February 2021
On Tuesday February 24, 2021, on behalf of the City of Richmond Mayor and Council, Fire Chief Tim Wilkinson presented an award for courageous and selfless deeds.
On two occasions he saved a person’s life through the provision of CPR at the Richmond Country Club (2020 and January 2021).
Cardiac arrests stop the flow of oxygen rich blood to the brain and other bodily functions that can lead to death.
When bystanders perform CPR, it helps deliver oxygen rich blood to the brain minimizing brain damage and reduces the risk of death by three times.
