EV Safety – FPW 2025

7 October 2025

With the rise in electric vehicle (EV) use, The Squad wants to remind the community about important EV safety practices.

While EVs are generally safe when used and maintained properly, their high-voltage lithium-ion batteries can pose serious fire risks if damaged or improperly charged. Always follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for charging, avoid using extension cords, and never charge an EV in enclosed spaces without proper ventilation. In the event of a collision or if you notice unusual behavior—like smoke, strange odors, or warning lights—move away from the vehicle and call 911 immediately.

Staying informed and cautious helps prevent fires and ensures everyone’s safety on the road.
