“The burning of chametz” refers to a Jewish ritual practice where, before the Passover holiday, individuals ceremoniously burn any remaining leavened foods (“chametz”) found in their homes, symbolizing the removal of negative traits and the purification process leading up to the holiday; this act is also known as “biur chametz” in Hebrew.
